ABB has launched a new multi-sleeve adaptor to enhance wiring protection in heavy-duty vehicles.
ABB Installation Products has launched the Harnessflex Interconnect system, a groundbreaking multi-sleeve adaptor designed to improve cable protection in heavy-duty vehicles and electric vehicles (EVs). This innovative system ensures robust stability between cables and connectors, crucial for reliable vehicle operation amidst challenging conditions such as constant vibration and impact.
As heavy-duty EVs gain prominence and regulatory standards evolve, the demand for resilient electrical systems capable of withstanding high voltages and extreme temperatures has intensified. The Harnessflex Interconnect system addresses these needs by integrating seamlessly with various cable protection methods like braids, sleeves, wraps, and conduits. Unlike conventional solutions that may leave critical wiring vulnerable, this adaptor ensures comprehensive shielding against dirt, oil, high-pressure washdowns, and corrosive chemicals.
"The introduction of ABB's Harnessflex Interconnect system marks a significant advancement in improving the reliability and efficiency of heavy-duty vehicles," noted Andrea Castella, EVP and General Manager of ABB Installation Products for Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa. "By offering universal compatibility and sustainability benefits over traditional methods, we aim to support vehicle manufacturers in meeting rigorous industry standards while enhancing operational safety."
