  • Output Signal: Provides a simple 4 to 20 mA proportional axial displacement (thrust) signal as input to machinery control systems.
  • Signal Conditioning: Conditions the signal into appropriate engineering units proportional to the shaft’s axial position.
  • Integrated Features:
    • Integrated Proximitor sensor.
    • Non-isolated “PROX OUT” and “COM” terminals for diagnostics.
    • Non-interacting zero and span potentiometers for loop adjustment.

Limitations and Considerations

  • Limitations:
    • Thrust transmitters have limitations compared to continuous monitoring systems.
    • Practical for measuring rotor axial position and trend thrust readings.
    • Cannot perform advanced monitoring functions.
  • Considerations:
    • PLCs attached to the thrust transmitter aren’t suitable for plant-wide diagnostic systems like System 1 or Rule Paks.
